The Challenge

We were appointed to produce and install signage after winning a competitive tender pitch for this landmark site in Christchurch. Hawkins Construction selected Claude Neon through the tender process due to our experience, WHS systems and procedures and competitive pricing model.

Engaged to supply and implement the way-finding signage across both the International and Domestic terminals, it was paramount for the signage to blend in as part of the new design and aesthetics. The newly constructed terminals were the first major reconstruction since the 1960’s.

The Result

The way finding spanned many areas from the main concourse gate through to directional and location signage, which was both illuminated and non-illuminated. The 2011 earthquakes certainly added to the complexity of the project and attention to detail and care was at the forefront, with considerations for the signage installation to meet the exacting seismic standards required.

The project was started in July 2010, interrupted by the 2011 earthquakes and then completed in 2012 to outstanding reviews.
